Dr. Rachel Goodman

Canadian, Dr. Rachel Z. Goodman, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist with more than 25 years of experience in trauma, resilience, mental health, and brain health. She maintains a private practice in Montreal and is licensed in Quebec, New Brunswick, and Alberta. Her clinical work includes the assessment and treatment of trauma and PTSD, anxiety and depressive disorders, ADHD, neurocognitive disorders, caregiver stress, and memory wellness, with a particular focus on prevention, resilience, and healthy aging. She is the former Co-Associate Director of the Alzheimer's Risk Assessment Clinic (ARAC) at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal.

Following the September 11 terrorist attacks, she worked at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York treating first responders and individuals affected by the attacks. Throughout her career, she has also worked with Holocaust survivors and their families, experiences that have shaped her longstanding interest in trauma, intergenerational resilience, and the ways individuals, families, and communities heal after profound loss.

Dr. Goodman is the developer of the Dor L'Dor™ Model, an intergenerational framework that integrates intentionally lived Jewish values and practices with contemporary psychology and neuroscience to promote resilience, mental health, brain health, and healthy aging across the lifespan. Her work explores how resilience can be intentionally cultivated and transmitted across generations through relationships, meaning, community, and lived values. She also initiated and led the English translation project of Shirat HaTrigger (Sounds that Startle), a children's book by Lilach Kipnis, who was murdered on October 7, making this important resource on helping children process the trauma of war accessible to English-speaking families, educators, and mental health professionals.

A frequent speaker, podcast guest, and writer, Rachel presents nationally and internationally on trauma, resilience, prevention, mental health, and brain health. She has spoken for professional, healthcare, educational, and community organizations, including the Association of Jewish Psychologists, the Orthodox Union, and Torah in Motion, and has appeared on a variety of podcasts exploring mental health, trauma, resilience, and healthy aging. She is the author of articles published in Kesher, the journal of the Association of Jewish Psychologists, and The Times of Israel.

Cultivating Spontaneity | DBT Therapist focusing on Trauma, Anxiety, Relationships & Grief | Adjunct Professor | Musician

Hudi (Yehuda) Kowalsky, LMHC, facilitates purpose-driven healing and loves to discuss the process with others. He seeks to connect with mental-health professionals, educators and curious people in general–especially those who are aware that a flourishing, balanced life requires a strong sense of purpose and self.  He became interested in the power of purpose in his mid-teens, when he casually read through the book of Koheleth, Ecclesiastes. Since then, he's studied mindful living as a means to ameliorate human suffering, both internally and in interpersonal relationships.

His clinical work focuses on the inner narratives keeping his clients from self-actualization. By digging into conceptions of self, he helps clients adjust the lens through which they perceive life and ultimately leading toward greater well-being and growing in the process of self-awareness. Hudi also practice yoga regularly and is a 200 hr RYT, he weaves concepts from Yoga and ancient Eastern philosophies into his practice as well, enriching the therapeutic process.

Hudi also loves playing guitar as well as teaching a wide variety of students and performing live, solo or with his band.
